Wedding Thank You Speech: How To Express Your Gratitude

In the Groom’s wedding thank you speech posting we indicated several people who should be recognized at the weddng.

In fact, the groom – and the bride – have many people to thank in their wedding thank you speeches.

These include the Best Man, the Maid or Matron of Honor, the bridesmaids, and the bride and groom’s parents to name just a few.

But because there are so many people to acknowledge, saying the words “thank you” can become repetitious.

Here are 4 alternate ways to express your gratitude to those who have contributed in a special way…

1. Use a different expression.

“I’d like to convey my deep appreciation to…”

 2. Praise someone.

“I’m very lucky to have such wonderful parents who have supported and guided me through all these years. I owe them a debt of gratitude. Mum and dad, I love you both very much.”

3. Illustrate a complimentary attribute.

“You’ve all just heard from Robert, my Best Man. He’s quite the comedian and a wonderful storyteller, as you can see. But what you may not know about him is that he is also my hero.”

Then tell a short anecdote that illustrates a characteristic or quality about him that you admire.

 4. Explain why someone held an important role in your wedding party.

If you’re the bride, for example, you could explain why you chose your Maid of Honor. “Rowena, my Honor Maid, has been my dear friend ever since we literally bumped into each other in grade school. She’s a huge part of my life and today wouldn’t have been possible without her dedication and attention to all the details.”

As you can see, there are several ways to say “thank you” in your wedding speech.

Add even more meaning to your expressions of gratitude by sprinkling these different variations throughout your Bride or Groom’s wedding thank you speech.
