Bridal make-up tips from Australian make-up artist, Lisa Eldridge.
Tips include:
1. Not using make-up that is “trendy” and dates your photos (instead you want a timeless, classic, and beautiful look)
2. Using a look that suits your coloring but ties in with your theme
3. Looking like yourself in a more beautiful version of yourself instead of going for a “new” look where your groom doesn’t recognize you
4. Going for classic shapes with eye make-up so that the blending gives a classic feel
5. Avoiding make-up that gives off too much light reflection since you’ll be photographed a lot and particularly under flash lights
6. Avoiding shimmery powders
7. Seeing how your make-up looks when you wear a white gown (suggest you do a make-up trial with a white towel or top before your wedding day)
8. Taking photographs of your make-up trial – especially with a flash – to see how everything blends
9. Looking for long lasting formulations (waterproof mascara and cream eye shadows, for example) since you want your make-up to last all day
10. Applying your make-up in thin layers so it blends in well with your skin for a longer lasting look
11. Making your skin look uniform in color by covering blemishes and marks
