Here is a sampling of five such strange laws:
1. In Texas, if you publicly introduce someone as your husband or wife three times you are legally married. (Be careful what you say!)
2. In North Carolina, a marriage can be legally declared void if one of the partners is found to be physically impotent.
3. In Kentucky it’s illegal to marry the same man more than three times. (Talk about persistence!)
4. In Lebanon, Virginia it’s illegal for a husband to kick his wife out of bed!
5. In South Carolina, if a man promises to marry a woman, he is legally obligated to go through with it. No run-away groom in this state.
